Transition Probabilities: Copper
Scientific paper
Radiative lifetimes have been calculated for the singly-excited even- and odd-parity nl2L (l=s,p,d,f) (n≤9) states in Cu I with particular emphasis on the strongly perturbed np2P° Rydberg states. The most important relativistic corrections and configuration interaction (CI) effects have been taken into account in the framework of the relativistic Hartree-Fock (HFR) approach. A comparison of the present results with the most reliable experimental data available shows an improvement over previous theoretical estimations and, in some cases, emphasizes the need for additional accurate laser measurements.
