Time-resolved emissions of the C2(A1Πu-X1Σg+) Phillips bands have been recorded after pulsed 193 nm ArF excimer laser photolysis of C2H2 and C2HBr. Lifetimes τ0(υarcmin) have been obtained for the vibrational levels υarcmin ≤ 8 of the A1Πu state. Using the trial functions for the transition moment, band oscillator strengths were derived. These values are in good agreement with astrophysical results derived from measurements in stellar atmospheres.
