Software for atmospheric radiative heating and cooling using the parameterization of Kuo and Qian was developed. This parameterization was introduced in a simple planetary boundary layer model, substituting the Brunt's and Chang's parameterization for long and short wave radiation, respectively, in the first version of the model. Experiments using both parameterizations are made and the results seem to be in a good agreement with real data.
