The Cosmos 900 experiment involving the differential spectrometry of magnetospheric protons in the energy range from 30 keV to 50 MeV is described, and preliminary results are presented. Data for the morning sector of the magnetosphere are used to compare differential proton spectra in magnetically quiet periods of long duration with differential spectra during magnetic disturbances.
