An explicit-implicit two-dimensional numerical method written for axisymmetric accretion flows is presented which includes viscosity, angular momentum, and radiation transport treated in the flux-limited diffusion approximation. The test runs undertaken with the code, that is generally of second-order accuracy in space, are described in detail. First preliminary models of the boundary layer structure in cataclysmic variables indicate a radial thickness of only several white dwarf pressure scale heights and that it is presumably confined close to the equatorial plane.
