The problem of determining the radiation field in an infinite homogeneous absorbing and anisotropically scattering medium with central point source is considered. Exact and asymptotic expressions for the radiation intensity are obtained. Calculations are made of the radiation field in a dust nebula illuminated by a star for different values of the particle albedo and for different phase functions. It is shown that two asymptotic expressions describe the radiation field fairly accurately at large optical distances from the source.
