Fluid Spheres: Radiation Mechanisms

Scientific paper

The relativistic gravitational collapse of a sphere filled with a heat-conducting fluid in shear-free and radial motion is considered. The sphere's exterior is described by Vaidya's outgoing metric, while we have a conformally flat interior. The author presents a particular solution for the interior's metric coefficients and then he studies the dynamics of the collapse. Finally, he gives some thermodynamic considerations in the frame of Eckart's theory of dissipative relativistic fluids accompanied by the diffusion approximation for the radiation transport.
