Radial-velocity determinations are presented for 54 G type stars at the North Galactic Pole cataloged by Upgren (1962) and studied spectroscopically by Rose (1985). The majority of the stars studied here fall into two categories: those tentatively identified by Rose as (1) field red horizontal-branch stars ("RHB", 18 stars), and (2) G dwarf stars with abnormally strong metal lines ("SML", 17 stars). Rose argued that the former set of stars have thick-disk-like kinematics (σW ≈ 40 km s-1), while the latter have Population I kinematics (σW ≈ 20 km s-1). The authors' results are in complete agreement with Rose's: σW (RHB) = 45 km s-1, and σW (SML) = 22 km s-1. Velocities for a further 19 stars, including nine G type subgiants (σW = 33 km s-1) and a barium star, are also presented.
