The authors report the flux density measurements of SS433 at 408 MHz over the period April 1980 - March 1984. Quiescent and active flaring periods are distinguished on statistical grounds. The emission is dominated by the so-called quiescent level but in about 20% of the observation time span the source was actively flaring. At least six periods of intense flaring activity were observed, during which the source more than doubled its flux density.
