Black-body radiation is important in the historical development of quantum theory. Today it plays a role in such diverse fields as cosmology and temperature measurement. In this paper our present experimental knowledge of the black-body spectrum is surveyed. It is concluded that new experimental measurements should be made since technological advances should permit substantial increase in the precision of the measurements over the existing results.
