An attempt has been made to detect quasi-two-year variations of the north-south asymmetry of solar activity for a prolonged period (1968-1980), in connection with a good correlation between Mayad's aa index and variations of solar wind velocity, and cosmic-ray intensity and anisotropy. The investigation is based on measurements of the intensities of the neutron and muon components, data on the solar wind and IMF (King, 1977) and data characterizing solar activity. Particular attention was given to variations of cosmic-ray intensity and anisotropy during recurrent Forbush decreases, determined by long-lived active formations on the sun. Theoretical results are obtained on the quasi-periodic variations of the solar-diurnal anisotropy of cosmic rays, which make it possible to evaluate the apparent lunar-diurnal variation.
