An approximate analytical theory is proposed for the motion of an artificial satellite of a planet, the quasi-circular orbit of the satellite assumed to lie near the equatorial plane of the planet. The equations of satellite motion, with consideration of noncentrality of the planet's gravitational field and perturbations due to external attractive bodies, are written in a linearized form and reduced to a system of inhomogeneous differential equations with constant coefficients. Formulas - describing perturbations of the spherical planetocentric coordinates of the satellite - are derived for the prediction of satellite motion at small time intervals.
