The results of computer simulation of selection effects in spectroscopic
observations of quasars are present. It is shown that selection effects
cannot explain the phenomenon we discovered earlier. This phenomenon is
that quasars with absorption lines have significantly higher mean
luminosities than quasars without absorption lines.
