The peculiar velocity of quasars is among the data needing extremely to be sought out in the observational cosmology. This paper proposes a method for determining an upper limit to the peculiar velocity of quasars by means of a statistical analysis of quasar pairs. A preliminary conclusion is that the peculiar velocity in the direction along the line joining the two quasars in a pair does not exceed, on average, 1000 km/s.
