It has recently been shown that for quantum effects to be significant in plasmas the temperature over density ratio need not be small. In this paper this result is extended by considering the effects on the dynamics of density fluctuations induced by the spin properties of the plasma species. The two-spin-fluid model is employed as a starting point to investigate the nature of the quantum effects in astrophysical jets. The observational consequences of these effects that may survive the transition from the Alfven to the electromagnetic regime are discussed.
