It is shown through a series of calculations that the process of quantum creation of the universe as described by a number of elementary particle theories can lead to the creation of an exponentially expanding (inflationary) universe. The probability of this type of expansion is considered to be high. The size of the universe following inflation could exceed 10 to the 28th cm.
