The two-dimensional version of the higher derivative theory in the mini-superspace approximation, which is 'almost' equivalent to the full theory is discussed. The classical (Euclidean and Lorentzian) equation is solved and the solutions are compared with the Wheeler-De Witt equation for the wavefunction of the Universe in the leading order of the WKB approximation. Appropriate wavefunctions which correspond to the classical solutions (through the path integral formula) are singled out.
