The evidence in favor of the notion that redshifts are an intrinsic, quantized property of galaxies is reviewed. A relationship has been observed between the morphological classification, brightness, and redshift of galaxies, and several well-studied galaxies exhibit two distinct redshifts which tend to differ by about 72 km/s or 1/2, 1/3, or 1/6 thereof. Additional evidence for redshift quantization comes from redshift differences of galaxies in orbit about each other and from the redshifts of dwarf irregular galaxies spread around the sky, which bunch up near multiples of 72 km/s. The implications of the hypothesis for cosmology are discussed.
