Procedures were developed for interactively evaluating low-resolution slitless spectra obtained at the prime focus of the Mayall and CTIO 4 m telescopes. For grating prism spectra, microphotometer measures are converted to intensities by using broad-band sensitometer data normalized by grating efficiency, emulsion responsivity, and approximate atmospheric transmission as functions of wavelength. Sky background is removed, data are smoothed, emission lines identified, and redshifts, equivalent widths, and rest-system magnitudes are estimated interactively using a graphics terminal.
