We present a quantitative photometry of the bulge and disk of NGC 1288.
We deduce from the multiplicity of spiral arms, using arguments of
density wave theory, that NGC 1288 must be imbedded in a dark halo.
Based on observations collected at the European Southern Observatory,
Paranal, Chile (VLT UT1 Commissioning Program).
