Scientific paper

By excluding events with a possible interaction of shock waves caused by nonisolated flare processes, it has been possible to specify the relationship between a characteristic of the X-ray (λ = 1 - 8 Å) flare emission, and the transit velocity VT of the relevant interplanetary shock wave, as first obtained by Eselevich. Also it has been possible to obtain relationships between the size of eruptive filaments outside active regions and the transit velocity of an associated shock wave.
