The development of sound quantitative reasoning skills, including estimating, calculating, and graphical interpretation, is important in the general education of all students. In an introductory astronomy course enrolling about 60 students (>80% of whom are majoring in fields outside of the natural sciences), I have tried to make the use of quantitative skills unavoidable by including some quantitative material in each laboratory exercise, as well as on each homework and exam. I will present a half-dozen or so experiments designed for a course entitled "Astronomy: Stars, Nebulae, and Galaxies," along with examples of the quantitative worksheets which students complete for each lab.
