A class of simple models that represent the inner parts of three-axial elliptical galaxies with various axes-ratios and various degrees of distortion are considered to determine qualitative changes in the stability and bifurcations of orbits of three-dimensional dynamical systems. The most important changes are found to occur at collisions of bifurcations that appear in the limiting two-dimensional case of epsilon of zero and eta of zero. These changes include the disappearance of complex instability in certain families of orbits for epsilon close to zero, and the changes in the interconnections between the various families of periodic orbits. The phenomena are modeled numerically, and theoretical explanations of the main effects are proposed.
