The 'absorption supercluster' inferred from the presence of a large number of C IV absorption systems at z near 1.65 in the spectrum of QSO PKS 0237-233 prompts the present search for high-redshift QSOs that can provide background sources against which absorption can be seen. Preliminary high-resolution spectra of five of 32 objects within 2 deg of PKS 0237-233 are presented. The C IV absorption systems are seen in the spectrum of one QSO, tentatively supporting the absorption supercluster's interpretation as a real spatial overdensity of absorption clouds whose transverse size is comparable to its extent along the line of sight.
