Polars are a category of cataclysmic variable stars in which the primary star, a highly magnetic (B~107 G) white dwarf, is accreting material along its magnetic field lines from its red dwarf companion. QQ Vul is a well-known representative of this class, whose complicated orbital light curve reveals an intriguingly variable source. More than 10 years of V band photometry of the system allows examination of its long-term behavior. We generally have only one data point each clear night at some random orbital phase, but the orbital light curve and its changes can nevertheless be studied when the data are grouped into intervals of several months, ensuring that the observed features are not just transient phenomena.
