In recent years, several groups have conducted major surveys for objects which are morphologically stellar but which are not normal main-sequence or giant stars. As each of these surveys is necessarily optimized for a single selection criterion, the possibility exists that complete classes of (rare) objects with as yet unrecognized properties may exist. In order to test this hypothesis, a pilot survey is carried out to identify every object which does not lie on the stellar locus in a photometric two-color diagram. In this investigation, an exceptionally close quasar-galaxy pair was identified. The considered object, Q1114-2846, is very blue, relatively bright, and is 6 arcsec SW from a low surface brightness galaxy with no obvious nucleus and no evidence for physical interaction or current star formation. It is concluded that the quasar's redshift is cosmological.
