We have studied pulsation constants Q-zero and Q-one for models in the main-sequence band and near to it, assuming different boundary conditions. Different masses and chemical compositions are investigated. We find it justified to use a Q-zero value of 0.0335 to derive masses of delta Scuti stars. The period ratios however are only insensitive to the interior boundary conditions, to a high degree of accuracy, for periods larger than 0.08 day; the structure of the central parts must be taken into account before using period ratios for models near the zero-age line in the period range of .046 to .080 day.
