A description is given of an example in classical mechanics which yields the key equations of relativistic cosmology, including the new equations reported by Harrison (1976). In the analysis use is made of concepts reported by Landsberg (1973). Attention is given to the importance of the Q parameter. The basic cosmological differential equation is obtained in two forms.
