A solar event is analyzed which was recorded by spectrographs and polarimeters and in which pulsations of radio emission with a characteristic time scale of 10 to 20 sec were detected in the storm continuum. The drift of the pulsations from lower to higher frequencies is described together with the observed circular polarization of the storm continuum. A model is proposed to explain the main properties of this event wherein the pulsations are associated with the radio emission of electron streams which are quasi-periodically ejected from a neutral current sheet in the helmet-like configuration of the coronal magnetic field and propagate toward the solar surface with a velocity of 5 to 10 thousand km/sec.
