The present ranges of mass and luminosity for two pulsating R Coronae Borealis stars, R CrB and RY Sgr, have bounds set by a new theoretical analysis of linear nonadiabatic radial pulsations, together with previously published reports for the evolution of He stars and atmospheric parameters derived from spectroscopic analysis. It is noted that the time scale of evolution may be sensitive to the time and place in the H-R diagram for the star's loss of envelope hydrogen, as well as to the mass of the He envelope.
