Observation data on a number of Type S, Type C, and Type D pulsars, and
the characteristics of pulsars of these types are discussed. Some
theoretical conclusions drawn from these data are outlined. The
implications of the discovery of a binary pulsar (PSR 1913 + 16) are
examined.
