The features and encoding principle for the Inter Range Instrumentation Group-type B code (IRIG-B) are introduced, and the mechanism of the hardware, which is used for receiving the B code of the standard time synchronization equipment using a sound card, is described. The special stress is put on expounding the process of the software programming and the method of providing standard time for computers.
