An analysis of equatorial drift trajectories of protons shows that in the forenoon sector of the auroral proton entry belt, projected onto the equatorial plane, there forms a region into which only protons with energies above 15 keV can penetrate out of the nighttime plasma layer. The possibility of drift-type transfer of equatorial protons of various energies from the pre-midnight sector of the plasma layer to the dayside during magnetically quiet periods is studied.
