The calibration of the Chandra Observatory has an absolute accuracy of order 5%; the uncertainties are expected to decrease to about 2% as more thorough analyses of ground calibration data are performed. The observatory also is expected to havearc second angular resolution, which will permit corrections for small scale structure and temperature variations in clusters of galaxies. These factors should result in better distance measurements using the Sunyaev Zel'dovich Effect than have been possible with previous satellites. The relevant characteristics of the instrumentation will be discussed. The distance measured to an individual object will be uncertain because of projection effects, but the distribution of such measurements can be used to estimate the Hubble constant and related parameters. The methodology used to select the first year observational program and some simulated results will be presented.
