The present study examines a model of type III bursts based on a gas-dynamical theory of electron flux flight in a plasma. The model consists of a great number of microbursts of short duration (1-100 ms at decameter waves) and high brightness temperatures. The microbursts are beam-plasma structures and move with constant and approximately the same velocities (0.3c). The velocity obtained is close to the observed mean velocity of sources of type III bursts and the velocity spread gives the bursts' time profile.
