Neutron Star, Structure, Equation Of State

Scientific paper

The static properties of neutron stars (NSs) are studied with a set of new equations of state based on extended Skyrme interactions in Hatree-Fock many-body theory. Two satisfactory Skyrme interactions, SYM and SG2, give rise to a maximum masses with Mmax=1.7Msolar, Mmax=1.67Msolar. Other NSs' properties, like gravitational redshift and moment of inertial, are calculated and are also consistent with observations and glitch models. The cooling of neutron stars in the authors' calculations can only undergo modified Urca processes, and this corresponds to a show cooling. The authors also import two other kinds of three-body forces, AV14+TBF and Paris+TBF, into their calculations for a comparison.
