Within a relativistic meson exchange model of hadronic interactions we discuss the production of vector and pseudoscalar mesons, and that the role of nucleon resonance in NN collisions. The meson production amplitude is calculated in the Distorted Wave Born Approximation, with a particular emphasis on keeping the consistency of the model in describing the production of various mesons.
