Reconsideration is given to the production processes for X-ray lines (about 0.5-10 KeV) involving charge exchange between low-energy cosmic rays and the interstellar gas. In addition to recent data on charge exchange, collisional excitation and ionization as well as the accumulation of electrons on to the cosmic ray are included. The production rate for each charge-exchange event is significantly greater than obtained in previous calculations.
