Aspects of the processing of Venera 15 and 16 sidelooking radar data are examined. Computer-synthesized radar maps of a number of sections of the northern hemisphere of the planet (including the previously unstudied polar region) are presented. The interactive transformation method that was used in the image processing is described, and results obtained on the basis of different processing methods are compared.
