The TV broadcast discusses problems of the modernisation of the Romanian Astronomy, one of the worst in the Eastern Europe, namely the mount of a new EU robotic 1,3 m telescope TELEROM, which was rejected by the Astronomical Institute of the Romanian Academy due to incompetence of the director of the Institute, Dr. Vasile Mioc. It is mentioned that this was the second very promising project which was rejected by the same person. The total cost of the project was 1,5 millions Euro, while only a little part of the cost was reimbursable, according the agreement with the EU foundation for Regional Development (director Hanns Ruder Institut für Theoretische Astrophysik, Universität Tübingen, Germany). The facilities from this implementation were very promising in what concerns observations of the Solar system objects, about few hundred of millions of far stars, quasars, exoplanets, far comets and galaxies, while due to refuse to place the telescope on the Canary Islands in very good astroclimatic conditions, the project was rejected. The governing body of the Romanian Astronomical Institute was intended to place initially the telescope in Romania in very bad astroclimatic conditions (such as Feleac, very close to the city of Cluj). A number of opposite considerations (e.g. Dr. Marian Doru Suran from Bucharest and few Romanian astronomers in the diaspora) were not taken into account while the project was rejected by the Direction of the Institute in agreement with the State body of Romania (Autoritatea Nationala pentru Cercetare) after 10 months of dicussions. Another problems, such as the proliferation of the astrology between Romanian professional astronomers,a reduced weight of physicists between Romanian professional astronomers by comparision with mathematicians, as well as very reduced issue from the professional Romanian astronomers in international journals in the last years has been also discussed.
