Whether clustering of galaxies means that galaxies belong to individual clusters of various size orders (hierarchical clustering) or that the space density of galaxies is subject to strong non-random fluctuations (continuous clustering) is discussed in the article. The use of general statistical methods is discounted, but finding morphological features characteristic of individual clusters is proposed, as a method of answering this question. In other words, either correlate in a one-to-one correspondence the spectral or brightness peculiarities of first-rank galaxies in clusters to the central cores of clusters, or relate (one-to-one) a 'ditch of lower density' (Rudnicki 1967) to all known individual clusters.
