It has been suggested by various authors that planetary systems of dwarf stars of late spectral classes could be of interest for the SETI problem despite a low flux of radiation emitted by a star. By considering the distance between a star and its planets and the equilibrium temperature of the planets, it is shown that for all stars from KV5 to the latest of the M class, the existence of habitable planets is doubtful. Stars of low mass and low luminosity can be excluded from the SETI list.
