Polarisation observations of millisecond pulsars taken with the Effelsberg telescope are presented. The aim of the observations is to determine the Rotation Measure of those pulsars and consequently to shed light on the magnetic field structure off the Galactic plane and in the vicinity of the Sun. Adding our sample to the already existing population of pulsar Rotation Measures we model the local magnetic field using two different types of models: (a) a field following the Galactic spiral arms in conjunction with an exponential drop off the Galactic Plane and (b) a combination of a dipolar and a toroidal field both of which are placed on the Galactic centre.
