SAO 206462 is a pre-transitional disk system with a cold outer torus and a small hot inner ring of gas and dust, separated by a gap that may be the result of planet formation. Recent spectrophotometric observations between 0.8 and 5 microns indicated significant (30%) changes in brightness on time scales of a month. In 2009 we observed SAO 206462 monthly between February and July. During this time the continuum rose and fell by 25%, while many of the emission lines underwent a factor to 2 increase. With the exception of a brief 15% drop in brightness at visible wavelengths, the star was photometrically stable to within 10%. This suggests that both the gas and dust were responding to changes in the UV through X-ray emission from the star.
