We present initial results of a Spitzer Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) high resolution spectroscopic survey of 10 early (A+B spectral type) disk-bearing members of the 5 Myr old Upper Scorpius OB Association. The IRS observations are merged with optical (λλ4800-9200), near infrared (4.7-5.0 μm), and sub-millimeter (CO J=3-2) spectroscopy to probe for gas emission over the entire disk. The high resolution optical spectra were examined for broadened emission line profiles of Hα, He I λ5876, and Ca II λλ8498, 8542, 8662, established signatures of gaseous accretion. The M-band spectra were examined for CO ro-vibrational emission, a sensitive tracer of warm molecular gas. The CO J=3-2 observations probed the outer disk regions for cold gas emission. None of the early-type excess stars are found to be accreting or to exhibit CO fundamental band emission, implying that the inner ( 10 AU) disks are devoid of significant quantities of gas. Preliminary results from the analysis of the H2 S(2), S(1), and S(0) transitions place only upper limits on the remaining gas in these systems. Even more striking is the non-detection of sub-millimeter CO emission, suggesting that gas within these systems is depleted across all disk radii.
