Hubble Digram, Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (Flrw) Cosmological Model, Grb
Scientific paper
In this paper we construct the Hubble diagram (HD) for the standard Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) cosmological model after enforcing it with the general relativistic energy conditions. Our purpose is to investigate whether FLRW still stands on as the leading scenario for cosmology in face of the distance modulus-redshift relation of two samples of gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) that had their luminosity distances and redshifts properly estimated after calibrating the GRBs observables with the currently used luminosity relations. The cosmological parameters estimated from already published independent analysis of both data samples allow us to construct the best-fit Hubble diagram and compare it for the first time with the upper and lower bounds provide by the strong (SEC), weak (WEC) and dominant (DEC) energy conditions (ECs). Bearing in mind that GRBs have large error bars in both distance moduli and redshift, our results show: 1) that no violation of the WEC and DEC bounds is found for all the redshift range spanned by the GRBs samples. 2) that the FLRW + SEC bound is what better appears to be fitted by the HD of both GRBs samples. 3) for a Λ-CDM solution neither the best-fit HD for the 69 GRBs, nor the best-fit HD for the 52 GRBs violates the flat FLRW + SEC bound. In the case of the 69 GRBs sample, which was calibrated with Λ-CDM, this is an unexpected result because Λ is known to violate the SEC. This negative result could then be interpreted as if there is no need for Λ, from the point of view of GRBs.
