Accurate pressure-volume relationship of SiO2 stishovite was examined under hydrostatic pressure up to 110 kbar in the X-ray diffraction method using a cubic anvil type of high-pressure apparatus. The least squares calculation with the use of the Birch-Murnaghan equation gives the isothermal bulk modulus KT = 2.98 +/- 0.05 Mbar with its pressure derivative K'T = 0.7 +/- 1.1. If we assume the value K'T = 5.0, we get KT = 2.81 Mbar. a-and c-axis changes with pressure were estimated to be 1 - a/a0 = 12.8 × 10-5 P and 1 - c/c0 = 7.3 × 10-5 P (P in kbar).
