The calculation of molecular radiative lifetimes are reviewed. The equations which determine the radiative lifetimes are given and the theoretical methods which have been used to solve these equations are discussed. The results of the limited number of calculations available in the literature are summarized and attempts are made to assess their accuracy. Some new results are presented for the radiative lifetimes of the A 1Pi state of CO.
