The operation of the IS-338 ionospheric station aboard the Interkosmos-19 satellite is briefly described. Results are presented for measurements of the electron density at heights of 900 to 1000 km along the satellite orbit and at heights corresponding to the F2 maximum. Cyclic variations in the electron density at the indicated heights are analyzed, along with the horizontal gradients of the critical F2 frequencies. It is found that the cyclic variations are more substantial at heights of 900 to 1000 km than at heights corresponding to the F2 maximum, especially at equatorial latitudes.
