A two antenna interferometer working at 8.6 mm wavelength especially designed for solar studies, is now in operation at the Observatory of Bordeaux University. Preliminary results, deduced from a series of about 60 days of observation, are given. These results are concerned with the terrestrial atmospheric transparency, and the structures of the emissive sources in the chromosphere corona transition layer where the millimetre waves originate.
